Kayak Trips to Blake Island

For two wonderful weekends this summer, I’ll be taking a break from the mountains to act as a guest guide with Ballard Kayak and Lake Union Charters & Adventures. On June 21-22 and July 26-27, I’ll be leading their wonderful multisport adventure programs. We’ll meet at the Elliott Bay Marina and kayak through the Salish Sea to Blake Island, where we’ll spend the night camped on the beach.  The next morning we’ll wake up, explore the uninhabited island, and sail back to Seattle on a classic racing yacht.  It’s a gorgeous weekend of sunshine, salt water, and no cell phones—and it’s all very close to home.
